Clare Cottage offers an exciting and interesting ‘What’s On’ programme of artists, poets, writers and informative talks, lectures and exhibitions for both the John Clare enthusiast and those interested in exceptional entertainment. 

These events are held in the comfort of the Clare Cottage or other venues, enabling the choice of relaxed presentation or formal delivery.

Children and Family Activities - October 2010

Hats and Bats

Make some scary wear for the Halloween season - witch and wizard hats, finger puppet bats and spiders on sticks! All  materials provided,  plus help from our staff.

Age range: suitable for young people between 7 and 12.

Pumpkin Lanterns

Light your way home with a super eco- friendly lantern....  all materials provided, and guidance from our staff to create the best-looking pumpkin in town.

Wednesday 27th October

Fright Night

Take an evening walk around Helpston with your lantern and wizard hats! Storytelling may be involved...   Parents can attend free.

Thursday 28th October

6.00 pm 7.30 pm

Tickets to the activity are £2 each.

Age range: suitable for young people between 7 and 12.

We ask that the parents of younger children come along too.

Places are limited and you need to reserve them in advance.
