RHS Chelsea Garden at John Clare Cottage

At the RHS Chelsea Garden show in 2012 the garden designed by Adam Frost, inspired by John Clare won a Gold Medal. "The Rural Muse", used the works of Clare and the countryside around Helpston to create ideas for Adam.

On July 13 2013 an adapted version of "The Rural Muse" was officially opened at the John Clare Cottage.at John Clare Cottage. Following a welcome by Sara Blair-Manning, leader of Peterborough City Council Cllr Marco Cereste opened the garden followed by a reading by Eric Robinson.

All plants for the garden were being raised at the renowned Barnsdale Gardens which was started by the BBC Gardeners world favourite Geoff Hamilton and is now run by his son Nick and all other materials used in the garden a were sourced locally, to keep the true feel of the Northampton/Cambridgeshire countryside.

Adam Frost is a Patron of the John Clare Trust and joins former Poet Laureate, Sir Andrew Motion and actor Sir Patrick Stewart in supporting the many and varied projects associated with Clare and his birthplace.
